The Russian State Arctic and Antarctic Museum is a museum in St. Petersburg, Russia dedicated to the historical aspects of scientific research in the Arctic and Antarctica, as well as the adjacent Soviet and Russian territories and the Northern Sea Route. It was established in November 1930 as part of the Soviet Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, but was not opened until six years later. Since 1998, it has been under the administration of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.
